Why HeartStory?
When I was choosing a name for my writing blog and workshop business I asked myself, "what do I want my work to stand for?" The answer has come to me- not in a flash- but through a kind of relentless sorting process involving lots of journaling, dreaming, and walks to the river. When you sort through all the extra stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, what remains is the one story- the true story- the HeartStory.
Sometimes, probably like you, I find myself believing a storyline of "not good enough." Other times, it is the relentless whisper of "if only..." that tries to pass itself off as the real story. I know these aren't the truth. The truth is wilder, like ripe apricots, and more expansive, like an October sky above Paradise. The truth is that we are, all of us, crazy-beautiful, never-before and never-again individuals with a daily opportunity to live juicy stories of purpose and meaning.
Currently, the main thing I'm doing with HeartStory is writing. I'll try to post an inspirational, or at least truthful, entry on the HeartStory blog through Wordpress every week. I may consider adding Journaling Prompts on Twitter for those of you who want to take the journey of living your crazy, juicy story along with me. Whatever your path, wherever your journey, I encourage you to keep the heart story alive, awake, and bright with possibility.
